Dem Village is committed to preserving  and promoting the characteristics and knowledge of Guyana’s rich culture. In an ever-changing and interconnected world, we will strive to respect and preserve our traditions and embrace our future in an open and inclusive manner. Culture Fest serves as the medium through which we invite our Guyanese  villages  and all other communities to join in this commitment. Through events like Queh Queh Night, Swari Night and Masquerade Dance Parade, participants and visitors alike will experience notable aspects of the Guyanese culture. Help us to preserve our culture and pass the baton to the next generation.

Queh Queh 

Queh Queh is a rich Guyanese pre-marital celebration that originated in Africa. It consists of families and friends gathering and partaking in song, dance, ritual, and other traditions in honor of the couple before the wedding.
